Description I finally got off my lazy arse and made some custom animations. It's in the game, just have to learn how to make blendspaces (thankfully, there's a course on the Unreal website!) It's not the best walk cycle in the world certainly, but it's decent enough. You know what the most fun part about 3D animation is though? Weight painting! Ohhh, so fun! I love spending hours getting it just right, only for a polygon to come through when I least expect it. Amazing!

Why the lonnnnnng gap in updates? Uh... see, you know, the thing is. I wanted to make my game because there were no JRPGs I wanted to play. But I played through Danganronpa with my friend, and there's a JRPG spinoff. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THAT THING IN ALL OF MY FREE TIME, okay. I don't know what it is about JRPGs that make my brain synapses light up, but I can't stop playing them. So I stopped devving for a bit to play it. Whoo...Yeah, my game's gonna have a 2024 release date, especially since I'm moving this year.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna make Dan next, or just focus on making more clothes for Joe. I really wanna put him in a hakama, and a suit, and etc etc etc. What's awesome sauce about 3D is that you can use the same skeleton for everything, all you have to do is change the mesh and weight paint it to make sure it deforms correctly. 2D chads, we must concede this advantage. Of course, the setup is much more time intensive as opposed to 2d where you just draw everything. But in the long run, 3D is definitely worth it, because once it's set up you're golden. Same animations, same everything can apply. It's rather fun too, I think. Yeah.

So, I'm officially at the point where I can literally make everything for my game. Only thing I'm somewhat foggy on are particle effects. But like everything else, I can learn it. BTW, did you see that the FNAF movie trailer dropped?! I skimmed it because I'm a scaredy cat and can't tolerate jumpscares, but I'm so proud of Scott Cawthon for how far he's come. He's like Jacques Louis David, in that he failed many times in the beginning, but never gave up. A fellow Ubermensch, in my opinion.
