Description
I finally, finally, finally figured out how to take photos in Unreal Engine and load them in as textures at runtime. Took me a bit, but it's pretty dapper. The subtitle test at the bottom will be able to be customized by the player. So once you take a photo, you can give it a title. Cool, eh.I'm extremely glad that it's taken me a while to make this game. Every day I learn more about Unreal Engine, and not to mention all the new features that are coming out. My project started at version 4.26, and now it's on 5.2. Because I hadn't added too much, I can update without worries. And of course, my coding gets better too. Occasionally I'll come across something I coded when I first started about two years ago, and my first reaction is usually "uhhhh why not just do xyz instead?" Haha. Had I gotten really far with my amateur coding it would've been a lot harder to go back and change everything.
Anyway, I'm certain that the full demo will come out this year on Steam. Not the full game (because of all the 3D, I'm sure I can't do it all by the end of the year) but the demo absolutely. I'm running out of things to implement and it's only August. It's not really a matter of "how do I do this" anymore, I just have to find time and be in the right mood to code it. Lol. And it's all mine, no plugins or add ons used. I'm really glad I decided to do it that way, even though it's harder. I'll never have the issue of waiting for someone else to update their plugin when a new engine version comes out. Yeah, type A chads just can't stop winning.
The next game journal should come out today, so be on the lookout for it. I hope with all the new features I'm adding that they're becoming more interesting to read.
