Appearance:

Build: Jace is very tiny currently. He's not extremely thin, but certainly short. It will take some time for him to grow into himself. Weight is also something he'll struggle with throughout his life, as food doesn't have much taste to him and he more or less has to force himself to eat.

Hair: Jace's two-colored hair has a slight wave to it. It'll likely become more wavy with time. He's also developed a crested mane.

Coat: Unfortunately, Jace is considered pale and ugly by Glenmore standards, even with his dark stripes. To make matters bad his coat becomes even lighter in the winter. To make matters even worse he has "white splotches." Gross.

Scars: Jace has two scars over his left eye, a result of his biological mother's freak-out when she first laid eyes on him. This, fortunately, does not affect his vision.

Squiffy Effects: Due to his squiffy magic Jace has bark and flowers growing along his legs and back.

Scamper: Jace's stoat companion. He discovered the little guy while out doing some guard training one day. The stoat was injured and he ended up taking it back to his mother to be healed... The stoat has followed him around ever since. He secretly finds it amusing that his companion also changes colors in the winter, like him.

Defects:

- Stunted growth - Jace is extremely tiny right now due to this defect. He'll have some random growth spurts but be rather short for a stag at only 10hh.

- Extreme Hoof Growth - Jace's hooves and dewclaws grow very fast. Iset tries to keep them ground down, but they seem to just grow overnight.

- Anosmia - Jace has no sense of smell. His taste isn't that great either. He eats to survive, but no more. He does, however, adore sweet things. They're he only thing he can really taste decently.

Personality:

Calm/Quiet:

Jace is a very calm fawn. He doesn't frolic and bounce around like most, at least not very often. From time to time he'll get fired up and play, but he prefers calmer means of play. He's quiet as well, hardly making any noise unless he gets scared and separated from his mother. He's definitely not one of those fawns that tries to talk from the get-go.

Sweet/Wary:

This young buck is very sweet, but also very wary. There's nothing more that he loves than cuddling up with friends and family... however, it takes some time to win over his trust. Most look at him with disgust and, even though he's too young to understand why, he's old enough to understand that emotion. Earn his trust and you win his heart.

History:

Jace was conceived with Lady Sloane joined the harem of Lord Knox. He was her first fawn and she was immensely excited to be a mother. However, when he was born, everything went wrong. Horrified at her white-splotched, bark-growing abomination, Sloane lashed out at her son and screamed. Knox rushed in and when he saw the same horrors he demanded that the doe get rid of the colt, whether it be abandoning him, giving him away, or even killing him. (See Blasphemous .) The doe wandered out into the fierce storm, leading her son into the Glenwood. It was by chance that she stumbled across Isetnofret, a doe who had helped her before. After much begging, the pregnant herbalist agreed to take Jace in. With the help of milkwort, she began to raise him. (See Fate and the Gods .) Sloane ended up still having an interest in being in Jace's life. Sloane had asked if the father of Iset's fawn would claim it. As much as it broke her heart, she claimed to have been forced upon by a renegade. She wanted to ask a male commoner friend about claiming them, but Sloane refused. There was a lot of argument, but finally Sloane won. They asked Nuallan, the actual biological brother to Jacenty, and he accepted. (See Pretendre ). Jace stayed hidden until the birth of Isetnofret's fawn. As soon as Lacette was born Jace's birth was announced. They were claimed to be twins. Due to Jace's tiny size, he passed as a newborn even after being half a season old.

Time marched on and he grew bit by bit, making friends along the way. The tiny colt had the heart of a lion... and he wanted to defend his kingdom. Despite Isetnofret's dismay, he decided that he wanted to be a Guard. When he turned three years old he gave up his title as Duke, becoming a cadet. He worked hard, learning the ways of the Guard. He seems to ignore the fact that he has many renegade friends... and he does not yet know his mother and sister's true heritage. He's also made a little friend in a stoat, which he has named Scamper. He's a faithful companion and always welcomes him home.
