Backgrounds sure do take a lot of work but I have to say I'm very happy with this. This piece was to be a reference guide to how I would make my Nuba pages. I wanted something simple yet interesting,that kept what I call "the essance" of the subject that I'm drawing. This style had inspiration from Mamoru the artist behind the movies such as Digimon, The Cat Returns, The Boy and the Beast, Summer Wars, Wolf Children ect.

His art and even detail when drawing characters was kept simple but still retained accurate antomy and such which I loved.

These two characters are Zap (yellow Hikari) and Ivory (white Hikari) they are a couple if you couldn't already tell. They play big roles in my series Neferushaat and the odd looking foresty area is their home (not sure of the name yet) but their territory is of light illuminated by what they call the "White Moon".
