"The forest is a gentle and quiet place," thought a young kitten however that image was torn away by the loud noise around her. Every day the cats would gather and chat up a storm. The young kitten didn't talk much like the others instead she preferred to sit and think but that was becoming hard with all of the noise. The other kittens were even louder than the older cats. The young kitten sighed and walked around listening for the least noisy spot to ponder. With no success the black striped kitten carried her self back home to her family and flopped down. Night time was ideal for thinking but she was not quite ready to be a late night feline and found her self exhausted after endlessly searching for a quiet place.

During the night she tossed and turned as a few cats went back and forth from either fighting, enjoying one another's company or simply just to make noise. Like every night she felt like sleep would never come but the moment that thought formed she would feel the warmth of her mother and siblings. Then a soothing melody vibrated softly around her. The only sound she enjoyed was her mother's night song and before she knew it the little kitten drifted into the dream world. The next morning like an alarm clock the rousing mews woke her. The dark kitten was determined to find her special place so after her mothers bath she trotted away from the others careful so that no one would see her and disappeared deeper into the forest. She kept running and didn't stop until the loud mews faded in the distance. Just when she was about to sigh with relief new sounds exploded around her. Birds chirped as they flew daringly in the air. The footsteps of deer shook the ground as a nearby stampede pranced about many other sounds joined in the symphony of never ending noise.

The kitten ran on and came across a pond that seemed nice enough. It looked quiet and peaceful there so the kitten cuddle up in grassy patched and tucked her paws beneath her. "This is it," she thought as her eyes slowly closed- RIBBIT!!! The small feline jumped dashing up the nearest tree. She poked her head from behind the leaves to find large yellow eyes staring right back at her. The kitten did not want to stay any longer and left the pond. The sun was begging to set and soon it would be time to head back home but the kitten didn't want to go just yet frantically she ran to and fro through the forest without end. With time against her she ran faster but tripped over an exposed root. Everything was quiet and dark and the kitten had no idea where she was for she could see nothing then she realized her eyes were closed. Slowly she opened one then the other. She sat up and looked around. Beautiful green leaves surrounded her and cattails tickled her cheeks. The kitten didn't notice at first but she began to think and her thoughts carried her far and wide. Something was odd but soon the young kitten figured out was strange about the place she had fallen in.

No noise....... It had become dark as the forest settled for the night, a worried mother cried out for her missing kitten, all of the other cats were also searching for her. Tiny pawsteps were heard in the distance and the black kitten emerged from the grove of trees and into her mothers chest she pushed herself into her mothers fur and her siblings surrounded her with mews of joy. While the kitten didn't like lots of noise she was happy to hear the sound of her family.
