I must know, what program(s) do you use to model? I'm a starting-out character modeler/concept artist and I'm familiar with 3ds max and learning maya. Your work is crazy awesome.

Do you box model? or do you extrude each polygon as you go? oh, and how can you tell when you've done enough detail in 3ds max or maya and are ready to add the small details in zbursh?

box model, sometimes strip model, all depends what i feel like

see thats another area I need practice in, I've done quite a few models but when it comes to rigging / skinning the model I can never get it right and I have a problem with skeletons. I'm hoping maya is easier to deal with in that aspect.
