Description Wolf People is another of my storylines.

The story is set in an alternate world where two sapient beings exist:  Humans and Lycans (humanoid wolf-like people).  The humans are more dominant in civilization, and live in villages, towns and cities.  The Lycans, on the other hand, are more clan-like and live in the valleys, forests, mountains etc.  Lycans are frequently persecuted by the human-world, mostly by human warriors known as the Cuetlaminqui*, who attack and massacre Lycan packs, and even wear the fur of Lycans who have been unfortunate enough to cross paths with them.  However, Lycan packs tend to attack as well.  For example, an Orther^ pack known as the Fire pack, resentful of human domination, do not just fight back against human attacks, but also raid human civilisations and slaughter the human inhabitants; it is also said that at feasts, the Fire pack drink from the skulls of humans who have been unfortunate enough to cross paths with the pack.  There is also a lot of discrimination between humans; For example, more privileged races, such as the Pitalesharo, victimize and look down on poorer races, like the Topanga.

For the humans, I decided to base their culture off of Aztec, Inca, Inuit, Peruvian and other Native American/First Nations cultures.  For example, the aristocratic humans live in Aztec/Inca-like palaces, while the poorer humans live in Native-American/Inuit-like villages.  The capital human city, home of the royal family, is called Llaqtaquri (derived from the Quechua words: 'Llaqta' which means city, and 'Quri' which means golden).  *The Cuetlaminqui are also derived from the Nahuatl words: 'Cuetlachtli' which means 'Wolf' and 'Tlaminqui' ' which means 'hunter' (literally wolf-hunters).  The culture of the Lycans, I decided to base off of Prehistoric/Ancient/Pre-Medieval British/Irish cultures (Iron Age, Celtic, Saxon, Viking), such as the style of villages, weaponry, druids, bards etc.

As for religions, the humans have two main ones.  Some believe in Yuumwich (derived from the Yucatec Mayan words: 'Yuum' which means 'father' and 'Wich' which means 'Eye'; pronunciation: Jum-Wits), a cruel God who requires eternal fear and worship from humans, in return for keeping the world moving, and deems Lycans as demons.  Other humans, especially most of the Topanga, believe in the Mist Souls, wonderful worldly spirits who watch over the kingdoms, civilization and wilderness alike.  Lycans don't have Gods or Spirits.  They actually worship the moon, and believe that the stars are the souls of deceased Lycans.

The Lycans in the North are known as the Norder Lycans (derived from the Norse word: 'norðr' which means north), the Eastern Lycans are named the Orther Lycans^ (derived from the Irish word: 'Oirthear' which means east), the Southern Lycans are the Deouler Lycans (derived from the Welsh word: 'Ddeheuol' which means southern), and the Western Lycans are called the Iarer Lycans (derived from the Scots Gaelic word: 'Iar' which means western).   The humans also have different races.  Most of the wealthiest humans are the Pitalesharo (derived from the Pawnee name that means 'Chief of Men').  Also, a lot of humans who believe in the Mist Souls are of the Topanga (derived from the Native American name that means 'Where the Mountain Meets the Sea').

Lycans, while able to speak like humans, are known to have the ability to communicate with regular canine species.

Phew! Now, onto the main characters.

Tempest (White Lycan with the blue eyes and red top) is a strict, but fair, widowed Lycan chief whose pack, a Norder pack known as the Winter pack, was mostly wiped out by a human attack.  He now leads a small band of survivors of the Winter pack massacre, consisting of:  Caynis, Tempest's naïve young adult son; Drogus, the wise, eccentric pack druid; Growlaf, a big, sturdy, strict warrior, and one of Tempest's best friends; Varro, an aggressive, cold warrior, and one of Tempest's best friends, who loathes humans because of his experience with them; Fang, a young, carefree archer, and Caynis' best friend; Scratchit, a restless, dynamic scout; Gryph, a clumsy, gullible bard; Howland, a jolly, comical blacksmith; and Ounce, Caynis' pet Nordalyconian dog.

Khyra is a Topangese human shamaness who lives with her teenage daughter, Roxie, and Qowi, Roxie's pet jackrabbit, in the human city of Nojochsala (derived from the Yucatec Mayan words: 'nojoch' which means great, and 'sala' which means hall; pronunciation: no-hots-sala), which is ruled over by Matiaak, a wealthy but corrupt high priest who worships Yuumwich, and uses his position to live off the city and exploit its citizens.  Khyra believes in the Mist Souls, and the practicing of her religion causes Matiaak to feel undermined, so the latter tries to have Khyra and Roxie murdered by his soldiers.  However, Khyra and Roxie escape and get lost in the valley forest, where they encounter our Lycan characters.
