I don't know about wondering what the subject of the cameras is-- it's pretty clear from the angle of the foreground guy that his camera is pointed at someone/something off-screen-- but I'm reminded of a story told to me by a photographer who freelanced for AP (among others):Β One day, he took a photo of three photographers, all of them wearing jackets for their individual employers, all those employers being part of Associated Press, who were laid out in a neat row on the ground.Β Facing the same direction, head and hands at the same angle and same distance from the ground.Β With their cameras out.
He got in trouble for taking no/few photos of whatever they were all there to photograph, but my understanding is that those three (or AP photographers as a whole) got in even MORE trouble for all of them knowingly settling down to take, effectively, the same picture.
I wonder who these guys work for?

Wonderful photo! I love how at first glance, it looks like they are photographing the seagull. Then you realize the cameras aren't pointed at the gull. And I wonder if the gull is thinking "Hey, over here! I'm much more interesting!" Congrats on the DD!
