It was my instant fav ship with female Byleth haha! I can't put my finger on why I love Edelgard so much and I just want this flawed character to be happy like all others (love them all equally they are so precious and gosh want to adopt them all! XD).

Catherine is an ass, and Shamir is badass babe....I believe they are already married. XD Fun fact I thought I'd like Catherine more because I loved her design but oh god Shamir is best gal!

Agreed 100%! XD I can't believe this game has taken over my spare time just because of these two. Last time this happened was in FE: Awakening with Chrom and Robin haha.

Oh that's right you celebrate Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to you too! We don't celebrate that holiday here but it's the thought that counts.

I was so sad when my friend told me there was no neutral route to get all three houses working together. Given the story of this game and how brutally horrible it is with the kids in it (heck I can't bring myself to play all routes for how traumatizing it is, not good for my depression), would be so nice to have a route where you can keep every one of them together to take out the enemy.

Closest thing to that is probably a Blue Lions route where every character that can be recruited is [difficult, but can be done].  Sill leaves Edelgard and Hubert dead, though.

Might sound selfish of me but if everyone has a chance to be saved but not Edel then it's unfair. Would rather have a brand new different route where you can recruit them all to unify the three houses.

It's a matter of incompatibility of philosophies; kind of the point of the game is that those who choose war must deal with the consequences thereof.  One of the three houses is by their own admission the aggressor, and it's just up to you whether that aggression was justified by the circumstances, which were never fair to begin with.  It kind of would have undermined the "horror of war" theme if there was a non-horrible route.
It's a much darker story than Awakening, for sure.  More of a tragedy in the Greek sense, while Awakening was a comedy, respectively.

That said, I think (I haven't played through the route fully yet) that a similar low-bodycount run with Edelgard is possible, though you'll have to use tactics rather than diplomacy.  Most battles where students and faculty reside are Kill Commander battles, not Rout all Unit battles.  And some units can be defeated without being killed, as long as you do it in the right order.  I think Dmitri, Dedue, and Rhea are the only necessary kills in that route, if you play it right.

Mercy is still possible, but like in real life, not through a dialogue tree.

That said, I don't know what wave 4 of the DLC will bring.
