"I admit that in the past, I've been a nasty. They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch. But you'll find that, nowadays, I've mended all my ways- repented, seen the light, and made a switch- true? yes!"

So! Here's my entry to artimiss1238 's model contest. The theme was "make-a-monster/villain" and I decided to combine a couple of fairy tale characters: Melusine, the two-tailed mermaid, and the unnamed sea witch who gives the Little Mermaid legs. Of course, going along with the latter, she's also a little inspired by Disney's Ursula. I was also a little inspired by Magotine, the elder sister of the fairy Carabosse (Maleficent), who cursed the daughter of a royal couple in the fairy tale "The Green Serpent" (which is my favorite fairy tale), as well as Undine, who was forced to kill her husband when he was unfaithful and somewhat inspired "The Little Mermaid."

Who's to say Melusine didn't flee to the ocean after her husband broke his promise and saw her with a serpent's tail? Who's to say she wouldn't facilitate someone else learning the same lesson she did? Who knows?

She's also obviously based on cephalopods, mostly octopodes, hence her funky eyes. Octopodes have rectangular pupils! They also have hemocyanin rather than hemoglobin, so their blood is blue.
