I've gotten use to putting up with him. It takes a while, but you do. I should know, you knocked me over when we caramelldanced back on your birthday. We got a little bit of history between us. Not much, but we do. I remember how we became friends. He became my friend when he gave me that rolling pin back at the battle of ATG in that kitchen.

23 June 2012 - Ponysona enters virtual equestria. fav.me/d54nbvt - And this is where I first saw him, about a week after my first upload and a week before a certain small blue unicorn would take his first steps in Equestria. You know, I've always wanted to create a sort of follow-up to that picture; one that shows Spades trying that button again. I may very well do that this week.
It is quite interesting to see this series of pictures, showing how Spades came to be what he is. The final one, showing what exactly Jack is, is particularly illuminating. I can actually see something a bit similar between Nocturne, Ghoul Nocturne, and myself, though the differences in my case aren't nearly as extreme as they seem to be between Spades and Jack.

I'm not sure what triggered it, but something made me review his evolution, from concept to nigh on sentience.
It has been an interesting twelve months looking at aspects of his personality, and wondering what they represent.
All the insecurity and neurosis comes from the Jack persona. What we have drawn above is pure undiluted Spades, as he is meant to be. ^_^

I'm not afraid to dig around for puns. Sometimes I have to shovel through a lot of bad ideas to get to useable ones. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty to unearth them though.
