Description Completely forgot to post this two part Spring commission. One of the most fun commissions I've had this year. A great two part painting that is meant to be framed and matted seperatly and then hung together. A logical extension of my Dragon bird series, featuring someone's back yard feeder with lots of different kinds of Dragonbirds. All but one are from my area (the commissioner is local to me) and he's just slightly north of where they appear. This is of course the second part of the commission, showing what's going on below the feeder. That grass just about killed me Acrylic on illustration board. 20 x14. Prints available.

The Cedar Waxwing and the Mourning Doves are so cute! I love how you creatively convert the bird species to dragon form while still keeping the same recognisable markings! It's very cute. Oh, and excuse my ignorance, but does the Cardinal one have a belly button?

Nope, no belly button. It's an optical illustion

Lemme guess what birds they are, clockwise starting with the cardinal, cedar waxwing, chickadee, flickers, sparrows... and I have no idea what those little cute black ones are.

Your pretty close. There is a male Nothern Cardinal, below him three House Sparrows. Beside him is a Cedar Waxwing. The little dark fellows at the base of the feeder are Dark Eyed Juncos. The flying fellow is a Black Capped Chickadee. And finally there are a pair of Mourning Doves.

I've never seen dark eyed juncos before

The mourning doves here are rarely seen, and flickers have recently (in the last few years) moved into my area of Canada so they're *constantly* on my mind - they used to be slightly endangered so I'm rather fond of them.

It's absolutely amazing how you get each individual bird species so clearly displayed.
