Description The other drawing I worked on while on vacation. It's also based on Animaniacs.
Slappy was one of my favorites as a kid, but then I grew up and realized something: she's a total bitch!

MrEnter and his followers are always whining about how cartoons nowadays don't have morals and are full of people being mean to each other. This tree dwelling rodent didn't take shit from anyone (Siskel and Ebert, her next door neighbor, The Who, Daniel Boone, and the list goes on!) not even the old co-stars from her cartoons who were trying to kill her IRL! She didn't give a shit about anyone or anything, except maybe her nephew. She did horrible things to others and got away with it, what a great character for a children's show!

Other examples of cartoon characters that have regularly done bad things to others and often get away with it include Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Road Runner, Jerry Mouse, Woody Woodpecker, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Chip 'n' Dale, Ren Hoek, Mr. Krabs, Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin...

That's another thing that makes certain cartoon nuts seem all the more hypocritical when they bash chracters like Teen Titans Go Titans for doing things that other cartoon characters have been doing since the old days.

I do notice that a lot of cartoons nowadays don't really have "lessons" the way they used to. I was talking to my friend about that recently, actually, and it's a bit of a shame.
But that isn't to say that past cartoons were ALL about morals, though. Animaniacs and crew didn't often learn any actual lessons. xD In fact, they mocked it, with their "wheel of morality". xD

Some cartoons had morals peppered in here and there, and I do miss that, but cartoon shenanigans otherwise haven't changed much. xD

Sorry, but to hell with morals.

People prefer to watch shows, movies, etc. to be entertained and get their minds off their troubles for a while.

There are plenty of educational shows out there anyway. Leave the morals to the educational shows, preschool shows and of course to the textbooks, schools and colleges.

That's cool, everyone sees things differently! You don't have to be so gruff about it, though, neither of us is "correct", here! xD We're just stating what we like or prefer!

Whether you realize it or not, most childrens' shows still have morals, and still have an "agenda", for better or for worse, with some exceptions (it's just that it used to be more apparent). For example, they're introducing more gay couples into cartoons nowadays, to help make that concept become more normal and accepted - whether it's apparent or no, that's based in the creators' morality!

There's nothing wrong with something like a Spongebob, though! I never said EVERY show had to have morals, so I'm not sure why you came in so strong. It's just that I've noticed there used to me more shows with true, heartfelt morals, and that's not so present anymore. I never said I thought it should be the other way, just that I personally missed it. Not sure why you came in like I said something rude, or something like that.

Re-read what I said - I wasn't saying modern TV had a problem, or anything. I literally only said I personally miss how it used to be.

It's just like how you're saying you personally don't need morals. Both things are opinions, and it's cool.
