For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the lawβs delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin?

Didn't quite like this version of Hamlet >_< or at least, not the actor. But you did an amazing job capturing him

Wow. Just....wow. This is so incredibly beautiful! I hope to be even half as good on my eventual acrylic painting of him. You are amazing.

Thank you!
I'm sure your painting will be wonderful, just don't make his face so narrow like I did. Have fun!

Cool!!! That mirror scene was awesome...but I do prefer Olivier's 1948 version, in Elizabethan costume and black and white--it just felt more...traditional!

Wow....you are such a stud. Kenneth Branagh is, too. This is the one in the mirror, if i'm not mistaken?

*sputters*
you - you DREW this?
i honestly thought, from the thumbnail, that it was a photo. even if Branagh seems to have a fake tan, your shading is amazing. this must have taken FOREVER.
but it's completely gorgeous. the dramatic contrast and lighting suits the emotion of his expression very well.
BEAUTIFUL.
i will now check out your other drawings....

I LOVE this scene! He did it wonderfully!
(Even though, technically, it's not a soliloquy but a monologue. The way he did it when Jacobi directed it was brilliant!)

thank you!
glad you like it
and yeah i will change it to 'monologue'. THANKS!!

Ooh--I wasn't being particularly picky! Sorry!
That's just a little known fact as it's always done as a soliloquy.I'm just completely obsessed, so don't mind me.....
Anyway, your work is wonderful!

I love this. The color's soft, and the feathers around Hamlet are a very nice touch.

Wonderful!!
My only comment is that it's really orange/warm on his skin. Branagh was already sorta odd looking with his skin in the movie, ha ha (he's astounding).
But who am I to critique?
Love this! Great job!!

HCui In reply to jpupRTni [2008-08-12 22:27:52 +0000 UTC]
yeah your totally right about the skin - it is inaccurate compared to his actual skin - one reason this doesn't look like a photo yet

Your welcome! It's still wonderful!!
"Doesn't look like a photo yet"
Yet? Are you still working on it??
