So, Eliza's been meaning to work with some of the horses on mounted archery, but as yet she hasn't had a chance to haul the targets into the arena and do that. They've been sitting in the back of the barn collecting dust for a while now. Then, Naomi suggested bringing them out so our three magic horses (Mage, Genna, and Doyle) could get some practice aiming their spells. Not a bad idea, since none of them are exactly experts at spellcasting yet.

Each horse got ten shots at the target, and as you can see each horse had varying levels of success.

Mage got all ten shots on the target, although as you can see they were scattered all over the place. Still, at least he can hit what he's aiming at.

Genna's shots landed consistently in the same area, although she seems to consistently aim a bit to the right. So if you ever need to dodge her, dodge to your right, her left. Laveau, her animated horse doll familiar, tried to get some target practice too, but they couldn't even reach the target because of their tiny size. Which might actually be good, because the last thing we need is Laveau getting good enough at aiming that they decide to start mischievously spell-bombing us from above in the rafters of the barn.

Doyle got six shots on the target, seven if you count the one that grazed the edge. He seems to also aim high and a bit to the left. Not the most comforting scenario for a horse who can literally shoot fire, but I guess now we have some incentive to give him extra practice time.
