Description Nixon and I decided to have some fun with a 3D lens I had acquired for my camera. A pair of red/cyan anaglyph glasses helps when viewing the image.

This photo was shot for my documentary on Goth and dark erotica.

Somewhere. I'll need to dig in my hard drives for it. Do you want to see the full stereograph image the anaglyph was made from, or just one half of the stereograph?

no problem and thx for the info!

Just a little digital rework. The lens shoots the photo as a single stereographic image. I have to use Photoshop to change it to an anaglyph.

And, thanks!

whoa.. great shot!
what is the name of lens?
Loreo?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HeadlessBill In reply to magnifEyes [2010-11-22 20:52:21 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! And yes, the I used a Loreo lens for the 3D (plus a little bit of time in Photoshop to convert it from a stereograph to an anaglyph).

magnifEyes In reply to HeadlessBill [2010-11-23 00:38:05 +0000 UTC]

good result, thinking of purrChasing a Loreo
does it work well with wider shots... like landscapes n such?

cheers!

HeadlessBill In reply to magnifEyes [2010-11-23 03:12:56 +0000 UTC]

I think it works better with wide shots such as shooting a landscape. The controls are very minimal and it's very difficult to see where the depth of field is in closer shots.

interesting, izit worth the purchase?
or u think I should save some
more for dedicated cam.
Seen some neat pocket sized ones out there. with double -eyes-
either choice would still get better result than my improvised shots, taking 2 different
snaps then combining.hehe
currently cant capture realtime like,
moving objects, smoke etc.

thank you for info
good day sir.

HeadlessBill In reply to magnifEyes [2010-11-25 18:37:16 +0000 UTC]

If you are going to be using the lens with the DSLR, I think it is worth the price. Especially, since you still have full manual control over the settings the on the camera. Most of the dedicated 3D cameras seem to offer the same amount of control over the settings as most of you typical consumer point-and-shoots.

But, yes, both will afford the ability of being able to shoot live, moving subjects rather than static subjects as it takes both images for the stereo effect simultaneously.

I even played around with the lens shooting video footage with my DSLR and made an anaglyph from it using After Effects. Could use more practice and better subject matter, but it turned out quite well.

aah i see, i recently got myself a Nikon D90
so i think im gonna go for the Loreo.

Your anaglyph video experiments sound interesting, would love to see the end results.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help a mellow fellow out. Sharing is caring

Wish you a great remainder
of this Thor's day sir

Amazing use of 3D. I think it would have been even better if the gun was pointing direct at the viewer.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HeadlessBill In reply to TheGroovyMurphy [2010-09-11 23:46:05 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. We did try to get some with the gun pointing straight at the camera, but it kept obscuring the models face. Next time I'll have to try a gun that has less stuff on the top of it.

And yes, you should get some cute chick for your next stereo shots. Though it looks like you got some pose for you at an Anime/Cosplay conventions.

Very nice. Occurs to me that getting that
much depth of field must have been a bit tricky.

HeadlessBill In reply to Technicia [2009-04-03 05:39:09 +0000 UTC]

Lighting for the depth of field was much trickier. I used every light I had and still had to bring up the brightness a tad in post.

Having dabbled in anaglyphs myself, let me commend you on hitting the sweet spot with your lens distances. It's all too easy to get over enthusiastic and create a hyper 3D effect. This is pretty well smack on. I have a few bits and pieces scattered throughout my gallery if you're interested.

More please!!
