haven’t been online here for a long long time, I apologise for being so inconsistent when it comes to staying active. on top of everything that went on last year and a plethora of shit that's happened this year too, things have been so mentally draining and just overall a bit of a nightmare. with that being said, I hope anyone who reads this has been lucky enough to avoid the many hardships the pandemic has brought about

as for not being around and getting owed art done, I think drawing lions and sticking solely to the TLK fandom for years and years just burned me out immensely, and I grew distant from it all probably for the longest time yet. eventually started to miss my characters/story and did actually try to come back a few times, but I failed to create something I could look at and be proud of so it became a bit of a love hate relationship anytime I opened an art program. even plucking up the courage to post this has been pretty difficult since it feels like a once in a blue moon creative fluke

but logging in after some months I came across a challenge by the great MalisTLK (you can find it here ) and it was a pretty good excuse to try and force myself out of this horrible funk towards my oc's, not to mention other people’s lovely versions of this challenge providing some inspiration. it took a few frustrating trial and errors but i’m happy I tried to get back into the swing of things. I can’t make any promises to come back regularly since I know it’s so easy to slip back into art block again and it'll take some time to attempt some form of sociability, but i’ll go with the flow and post whatever my brain can pump out in the meantime

you can read more about some of these characters within the depths of my gallery if you’re interested - specifically Uru, Ahadi and Junior (Kovu and Kiara's Eldest). I originally had a gigantic description saved for this (especially for Mheetu, Kopa and Afua), and I unfortunately and pretty damn tragically lost everything I spent time writing and putting a lot of heart into when I was originally ready to post this, it was something I was extremely proud of as far as descriptions go. though my tendency to spew mini stories over short and sweet explanations is my downfall because shit like that always happens, and the advantage of knowing when to store things safely in a file somehwere seems to have bypassed my intellect completely. in the future i'll probably update this with all their info again if I can find the mental strength to redo it all, or even better if I manage to revive the lost work somehow (which i'm praying will be the case)
