I’ve been seeing MalisTLK’s challenge floating around this site for the past few months, so I figured I might as well give it a go. I’m not putting down much info though, because I kinda want to do a comic on the history of the Ndona when I get better at drawing and writing.

Also, I’ve seen a million different interpretations of Ahadi and Uru, and I can’t believe after all these years and different variations, no one has ever capitalized on the fact that the name “Ahadi” is usually given to girls. I think I might be the first with this particular headcanon.

Uru: The first-born daughter of the late King Mohatu, Uru is incredibly stubborn, emotionally closed off, sharp-tongued, and proud. Despite all of her faults, she is an incredibly effective and well-respected ruler and a master of political intrigue.

Ahadi: Ahadi is the second born of the Selfish Lion (Choyo), and a member of a desert pride conquered long ago by the Ndona. Her name, meaning “promise,” was given to her by her father to signify her future as a tribute to the future King of the Ndona pride—no more, no less. Accordingly, she is sent across the desert to the Pridelands…only to find a very different future than the one previously envisioned for her. Charming and kind, Ahadi is the antithesis of her mate’s personality, and the bedrock of her sons.

Mheetu: Mheetu is the son of Scar and Sarafina, conceived not too long after he took over the Pridelands. Cynical and intelligent, Mheetu soon proves to be a disappointment to his father, and is subsequently run out of the Pridelands.

Kopa: I don’t have a story for him, but he ain’t the King of the Pridelands, folks. Sorry.

Afua: Son of Chumvi and Kula, absolute troublemaker. As he grows up, he becomes a ladies’ man.

Jael: First-born of Kovu and Kiara, Jael is around to witness both the honeymoon phase of her parents’ relationship and the later dysfunction. Logical and stubborn, she and her mother fight frequently, and one day she leaves the Pridelands in anger. Like her grandfather, Jael finds that the Pridelands have their own gravitational pull, and she eventually returns to rule as Queen.
