Diku: The second of Sarabi’s sisters, Diku is a certified hardass. She’s stubborn, a perfectionist, and utterly fearless. She tends to have very little tact and doesn’t seem to miss it. She clashed heavily with Prince Askari when the two were young, often to the young prince’s detriment, as she usually won every fight she started…and all the ones she didn’t. When she is older, Diku opts to seek out a rogue lion as a donor so she can have cubs without the bother of a relationship. From one of her one-night stands, her daughter Timira is born. During the reign of Mufasa, Diku is content as a huntress, even if she does manage to rub some of the lionesses wrong. It’s during the reign of Scar that things begin to go south for her, as Diku believes him to be unworthy of the title, even if he is next in line. Scar hates her as well (he holds grudges for realllly dumb petty shit all the time, and Diku’s bullying was a salient point in his mind), and the two are at perpetual enmity once more. She survives Scar’s reign out of sheer spite, and thrills to see her nephew on the throne.

Dwala: The third of Sarabi’s sisters, Dwala is a quiet, timid little cub in comparison to her sister Diku. She is very observant and suffers from depression during her adult life. She is very intelligent and is quick to pick up various languages. Dwala manages to survive Scar’s reign, but it weakens her, and she does not live to see the birth of her granddaughter Zuri.

Tojo: Tojo is Nala’s half-brother from her father. He is an energetic child, whose inherited talent for accidents pairs poorly with his other trait: an insatiable lust for trouble. Tojo spends a great deal of time during his childhood egging on Tama and Nala (and being egged on in turn), until one day Scar takes over the Pridelands. A series of unfortunate “accidents” leave Tojo’s friends dead, and him a witness. Knowing that he is next, he flees the Pridelands in the dead of night to Malka’s pride, hyenas dogging his footsteps. The stress was too much for him to really comprehend at such a young age, leaving him with severe trauma. Tojo eventually returns to the Pridelands, but he is changed: he does not like to have others come up from behind him, he is hesitant to travel at night, and he fears hyenas.

Tama: Tama is a carefree, stubborn, tomboyish cub who grows up into a charmer. While she did live through part of Scar’s reign, her mother had the good sense to get her out before the borders close—devastating Tama, who had a hopeless crush on Nala. When she gets older, Tama returns to Simba’s pride and meets Mheetu—who she also finds attractive. The two marry but she feels that something is missing—until she meets Penda. Penda, who is gorgeous and intelligent and well-traveled. Penda who gets along well with Tama and Mheetu. Penda, who eventually agrees to give up her wandering life to enter a relationship with both. Eventually, when they are ready to start a family, Tama gives birth to Tiifu, and Penda to Zuri. The girls become best friends with their cousin Kiara.

Timira; Timira is Diku’s daughter. They have a contentious relationship that becomes deeply embittered when Timira is a teen thanks to the outside stressors that King Scar’s reign creates. When she is a young adult, Scar becomes particularly desperate in his search for the perfect heir due to Nala’s refusal. Scar’s attention instead falls to Timira, as he notices an uncanny resemblance between himself and the lioness. Fearing that her genes are not strong enough to compensate for his, he orders his paramour to mate with her. Soon after, Scar is killed by his own hyenas, but it comes too late for Timira, who is embittered and pregnant with Scar’s heir. Soon after Simba takes over, Timira gives birth to a male she abandons in the wilderness on her way out of the Pridelands. The cub is found by Zira, who recognizes what he is and names him Kovu. Timira is able to find healing in the Night Pride, and later goes on to found an outpost pride with Queen Janna’s blessing.
