Meet Zumadiri (emerald), daughter to Ahadi and Uru, sister of Askari and Mufasa! She was the late-in-life baby to the two queens, born when Mufasa and Askari are both in their teens. She’s spoiled rotten as a result—not only do her moms have an abundance of time to spend with her thanks to their older boys being old enough to take some responsibility, but they also have the means. Additionally, Ahadi and Uru are both well-aware at this point that something has gone wrong with Askari…they just can’t pinpoint what given that the earlier years of their marriage were so rocky it could’ve been anything at all that set him off, really. Zumadiri is the result of both of them A) genuinely wanting another child and B) wanting to make up for past mistakes . Obviously, they’re still trying to make things right with Askari, but at this stage in the game, he’s extremely unwilling to even be in the same area with them (and perhaps even understandably so)…so it’s a bit difficult. As she gets older, Zumadiri reminds both of her mothers painfully of Askari by virtue of her possessing her mommy’s eyes and her mother’s attitude. Despite this, Zuma never quite inherits the mental instability inherent in Scar, nor does she grow up with young, first-time parents making big mistakes in a pride where they are highly judged. Zuma, therefore, does not grow up to be a tyrant—just an elegant, if a bit arrogant, upper-ranked huntress.
