Nicely drawn ! and the smooth shading works well for me, the shirt especially looks nice. Just pay a bit more attention to the shadows and highlights. The shading on his hair suggests the light is coming directly from above as its light above with shadows down the bottom half of the hair, whilst the shading on his face suggest the lighting is coming from right hand side with the lighter right side and the darker left side (screen wise). Also, just like you added the shadow of the hair across his forehead, you should also add the shadow that the shirt would be casting on to the skin, especially on his right arm, it would be a real nice touch. Nice work though

And yeah, I was very unsure on what I was doing on shading. The hair shadowing did look off to me too:/ And i wasn't sure how to go on that since it was perfectly in the middle. I had meant to add the shadow casting by the shirt, and I was surprised to see i didn't! And how was the shirt on the inside though? That I am not sure of as well D:

No worries and you're welcome ! Lighting a piece properly and in a manner that is most effective to create a strong sense of realism is a hard technique to master :s on my last digital painting I spent a long time wondering how to make the lighting effective and I went around asking a few friends for feedback too, but as long as you're improving that's the main thing
