Description Okay, I know that some people are scared out of their wits when it comes to Slendy, but he's my favorite creepypasta to date. What with the game Slender having come up and everything, he's much more known than he used to be. Finall, a creepypasta that is scary in the pictures as well as the story. (The curse of the Tails Doll and Smile Dog are also creepy.)

I think I like creepypasta much more than I should.

Happy early Halloween!

Creepasta scares the living day lights out of me, I read two pokemon short stories one night and I couldn't sleep well for weeks. XD The text looks a little cut off, or was that intentional?

Yeah. I was aiming for that look because, in the Slender game and in the stories, do the notes matter when you can see him there?

He started as a ghost hoax on the Something Awful forums. The forum held a challenge on who could make the best hoax and thus Slenderman was born. There is little "canon" about him save that he is tall, pale, faceless, wears a black suit with either a red or black tie, can stretch his limbs to any length, and has tentacles he can create out his back and even transform them into more arms. Also, it is widely believed that he abducts people in the woods, specifically children.

All in all, I think he's more fascinating urban legend than overly creepy ghost story, and there's wiki for him all over the internet. He was recently made very popular thanks to the relatively new indy game "Slender."

Have you ever heard of the creepypasta about the Rake? If not DON'T look it up. It's a more feral version of the Slenderman. Slendy doesn't scare me, but the Rake does..

Healing-Touch In reply to Brontyde [2012-10-30 22:52:47 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, the Rake. He certainly is creepy, but I think that the lack of general popular stories makes it not as scary. The metal claws, the "Scream" face, and the animal walk are all very creepy, but there it just seems so animal that it's like a chubacabra to me: not so scary anymore.

I just find it creepy that he can show up at any time in your room, not to mention the noise he makes. *shudders* Anyway, he along with Mr. Widemouth freak me out.

Wow, think of him this way. He's Slendy's dog and just got off his leash. If you see Slenderman outside your window, he's just checking to see if Rover is there so he can take him back home.

I think I figured out a way to help you. If you are familiar with the new DreamWorks movie Rise of the Guardians, you know the Nightmare King's wish is to cause terror throughout the world, especially in the hears of children. His shadows take the form of nightmares to frighten children. Mr. Widemouth is one of them, though he is aimed at older children who are more sensitive and understanding of his intentions.

However, good dreams and light are more powerful than bad dreams and darkness. If the moon is out, let the little moonbeams in as they chase nightmares away. When the moon isn't out let the street lights shine in instead. Simply having light guarding good dreams discourages bad dreams.

I know it's cheesy, but I find going back to the little child in me helps ward off fears. Maybe it's simply just the smile it brings to mt face.

I suppose that works, I have a streetlight right outside my window and it shines through my blinds. Aaand my friend made me a dream-catcher and it actually works.
Plus my kitty sleeps with me and if anything were to come into my room he'd know. xD

Anyway, so tonight there were no trick-or-treaters early in the evening and my dad, who's only heard of Slender ONCE was like "I bet Slender Man got them." and I was like "Fuuuu why would you say something like that?!" xD
