"Look, look!" Noctus shouted at the top of his voice. His wings caught the air as he glided down from one branch. He didn't quite have the hang of it yet, but he was definitely improving fast. As he soared down, he managed to grab a branch, which he tried to climb up onto.

"Well done, son." his father proudly exclaimed. He flew up to the branch Noctus landed on; as Noctus attempted to pull himself up. "But you need to work on your aim, and remember to use your tail feathers; they aren't just for show."

"Yes, sir." His father pushed him up. After taking a moment to catch his breath, Noctus lept from the branch. He glanced down to see his mother flying under him, ready to catch him if he fell. But thankfully, he landed yet again on a branch.

"Keep this up, and you'll be flying on your own in no time."

"Now, I wouldn't say that." His mom chuckled. "He still has some time to grow before he can fly freely like us, dear."

"Hey!" A third voice erupted from above, making all three of them jump. They all looked up to find another wyngling. "What about me, dad?! When are you going to teach me how to fly?!"

Their dad sighed with a shake of his head. It took mere seconds before he was at the very top of the tree, looking into the doorway of their treetop house. He responded with a warm smile. "Percy, you still have some ways to go before you'll be ready to start training. Let your little brother have his go."

"I'm the eldest!" Percy stamped his foot, "It's not fair! I should be ready by now! Why does he get to train before me?!"

"Oh boy, here we go again." The mother sighed. It didn't take long before Percy began having a temper tantrum, stomping and yelling about how it wasn't fair and how he wanted to fly too.

Noctus didn't pay the one-sided argument any mind. Instead, he jumped again to another branch. His mother didn't even notice him gone until everything began to quiet down, to which she realized he wasn't there.

She looked down to find him on one of the lowest branches, then he glided down and landed softly on the forest floor. He turned around and called up to his parents, "I made it!"

The boy has a brother, who I'll draw soon so I can actually depict him. But for now, lookit how happy he is! He lives with his parents in a giant tree house, along with his elder brother Percy.
