That's strange. I can only think that maybe you don't have the latest version of SAI. Other than that, it's weird.

I don't think SAI has a function for transparency pixels. You can use either GIMP or Photoshop to make transparent images :]
Photoshop is a better choice since it gives you clean transparency unlike GIMP >.<;;

You can try GIMP. That's what I usually use and there are tutorials on DA for making transparent images :]

Haha, I didn't think so as well :]
Its not as good as Photoshop but its the best free option there is.
If you need help with making images transparent, I'll find you a good tutorial ^^
