Description
Just born tiny mantis babies. The local dog park caught on fire a few weeks ago, so I rushed up there and collected three mantis sacks before they burnt in the brush fire. The fire is gone now and I have been releasing these tiny things when they have been ready, and with full bellies. About 600 so far and counting, too bad I cant charge room and boardRelated content

Wow! Praying mantises are probably the only kind of bug I like, but they look really creepy up close!

Aren't they just adorable! And fascinating too! An egg sack that I had for almost a month just hatched a bunch of little babies. I wish i could catch them to keep them from running out of the garden, but the containers I have right now have holes they could crawl out of ^^
Anyways, this is a great picture! There are so many of the in such a small area! Did they just hatch here?

too bad, they are cool to watch and feed. the egg sack hatched in my house and I had about 300 babies in a jar that I let go on the first day, and a couple hundred a few days later. Each egg had about 200 babies in it. I saved about ten for my house, so that I can photograph them, I plan on letting them go soon.

I am so proud of you
and so grossed out just now!
I've never seen that before.
I think I might have lived without
but I guess I learned something new.
That's always good, right?

I love them when they're grown up

It didnt catch completely on fire thanks to our excelent fire dept. but the area with the mantis sacks was covered in ash for a few days until it rained, I hope that the rest of them are OK
