not to be rude or anything but th at's really the wrong colour for gold. it looks more like some kind of rusty brass. gold is much more yellow and vibrant.

That was on purpose. The gold elves who actually have royal armorers making their gear would wear very elaborate designs: gold leaf over exotic alloys, more refined protection, artisan finishing, and a selection of enchantments.  Meridian's kind of in a low-rent point in her life and for the con job she's part of, has to make do with seriously impractical and only vaguely gold-ish armor.
