I tried banishing blue from my palette this time around, but it didn't work. I had a golden yellow variant, but I ended up preferring this one because it had more colour and contrast, which in my opinion improves the overall rendition of this particular piece. That, and it's been a while since I last did something contrast-based.
Also, I can't believe I still feel like there is so much to discover about the KPK Wiggbarn formula. It's been months I've been using it fairly intensively now, and it never ceases to amaze me.

First thing: I enjoy viewing your work, as always e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

This piece relaxes me very much, it's got a simple colour palette, and the shapes are very unique.
It's very rallying the the eye, mind and soul <3
(Unlike some other fractals, I don't have to really focus to see what it is)

It makes a great background, wallpaper.. etc. I love it.

The one and only concern I have about this piece is the background.
The background (the rocks) looks like it's suddenly cut in several pieces.
I am not sure if this was intended.
Particularly the middle, it goes mainly from cool to warm.

I enjoy this piece never less, and I sincerely hope you will upload more like this in the future! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Thank you for taking the time to critique this!

I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "rocks", do you mean the circle shapes? If you do, then it wasn't intended, but sadly I had to accept that they were there because changing them meant changing the rest of the fractal shape as well. It's a bit sad you often can't do exactly what you want with fractal art... but it's also stimulating, in that finding the best compromise to make something look good is a neat challenge!

And of course I'll upload more - this is one of my (two) favourite fractal styles, after all.

A me sembra molto da sogno, sai?

It's absolutely lovely
Once I tried to do one with Apophysis but I was not able
to figure it out so I gave up. But you do it with grace

heavenriver In reply to DarkSena [2014-07-18 10:00:09 +0000 UTC]

This one is made in Ultra Fractal, which is arguably much harder to use than Apophysis Although it is also more powerful - it's easier to get what you want from UF than Apo, though even then, you have to compromise all the time since you can never get exactly what you're looking for!
Thank you

I really love the contrast of the complicated background and then the very pale and almost flat 'blooms' in the foreground. it makes me think a bit of your piece 'Sumihiro's Heart' that had the white gnarl 'kelp' that stood out so fantastically against the background.

I have to grin at your mention of trying to banish blue from your palette -- it's only one colour, it can't be THAT hard, right? right?! heh.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

heavenriver In reply to blipbl0p [2014-07-15 09:58:28 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! I didn't expect someone would think of Sumihiro's Heart with this piece, since they are structurally very different, but you never know.
I mostly try to banish blue because if I don't, I end up using it in nearly all my pieces... I'm heavily biased towards my favourite colour, haha. But I'm glad I kept it down to a minimum in this one (yeah, that's a minimum for me!) because the purples make it look better.

It took me a minute, but I think I now see how you came up with this title. The blue fire at the bottom slowly changing to a more red color at the top, as does an actual flame. Nice!

I always rather love your addition of the various types of effects. They add a special flare to your work and it really adds appeal and more beauty.

It also kind of reminds me of night slowly turning to dawn, in a way.

heavenriver In reply to DeadFantasyFreak [2014-07-13 17:20:05 +0000 UTC]

Yup, you got it right and it's also supposed to be a more conceptual kind of ignition, the kind you get when you have an awesome idea or are motivated to do great things. That's what I had in mind while I was making it, at least. I had plenty of possible titles, but "Ignition" was the only one open enough to interpretation to be able to encompass them all
Thanks for your comment!
