Totally not Floydian, totally not.
So, yes, I'm getting a tad experimental these days. To be honest, even though I really don't mind the outcome, I'm shooting for something more "like my style" next time around

The Pink Floyd reminiscence was entirely intended, btw. This fractal is essentially the 3D version of the Dark Side of the MoonΒ cover
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate the critique!

This is simply beautiful. Stunning, amazing, gorgeous. I have never seen a picture show such raw beauty using such contrasting colors and lighting. While the white between the colors makes it seem out of place in a rainbow, the rich, vivid colors make up for that flaw. The lighting is simply and gorgeously executed. The background, while lacking in color, still caught my eye because of the gorgeous detail. The gray and white merge into each other perfectly to create a stunning background. The concept of prisms and light are gorgeous concepts, and aren't touched upon enough in art. You make light bending beautiful, and graceful. This is the best piece of art I have ever laid my eyes on.

Thank you so much for your words! I agree white is out of place in the rainbow, although I left it there because I tried putting different colours in and the white version just worked better overall, because it prevented the warmer tones from messing with blue. But yes, physically speaking, light decomposition would mean no whites anywhere

Love this, love Pink Floyd to, I like Dark Side of the Moon but I prefer their earlier material.

Actually, that's me as well. To be fair, I'm not a huge fan of Pink Floyd (it's more their icon that I'm a fan of), but earlier works were better IMHO. The Wall is the only exception, also because of the film.

Yeah, I love all of Pink Floyds work but I never really understood why Dark Side of the Moon became so massively popular while their earlier work is somewhat obscure, even their later albums never came close to matching in popularity. My favourite album by them is a tie between A Saucerful of Secrets and Meddle.

Mine was A Saucerful of Secrets back when I first listened to them!
However, it's been far too long for me to remember much of it. In truth, I've never really been huge on music, what I listened to was mostly to discover new genres (because I like learning, and I don't want to feel ignorant since music is so popular everywhere).

Ah I see, well I'm not worried about sounding ignorant myselfΒ because I have no social life anyways, lol.

I don't really worry about sounding ignorant to other people, I just don't want to be ignorant myselfΒ - it's as if there's something nagging me to learn at least the basics of everything, because I want to understand what's so popular about it and such. I have a thing for knowledge in general, and to me, feeling ignorant is one of the worst possible things. However, with music it quickly branched out to unknown genres

Bellissimo, un mondo grigio che prende colore (:
Ma la posizione dei colori Γ¨ solo casuale o sono ordinati con un motivo preciso?

heavenriver In reply to streincorp [2013-02-23 20:15:46 +0000 UTC]

actually light propagates 2 times when it goes through a prism. but thats ok

barkbathory In reply to heavenriver [2013-02-19 20:36:19 +0000 UTC]
you see, in your artwork the light propagates only once in the center, but in the real world it changes medium 2 times on the edges of the prism(fist air to glass, than glass to air)
but that is just a small detail.
