Here's a basic tutorial on how i usually color,using my Devil May Cry piece.I know many of you requested it a while ago,sorry it took so long,had a lot on my plate...
Hope this helps a bit,i ll try to have more of these in the future.

awesome tutorial quick question when making your shadows do you use pure black with an opacity or is it another color?

depending on the piece,i usually use a color,but recently i ve just been using black.So make sure you experiment and see what works best for you : )

I swear you skipped twenty different steps somewhere in between all of that magic...
And I've always wondered how you keep track of the massive amount of details in some of your pieces (like this one and Kid Icarus Rising) and not end up forgetting to colour some small part or colouring it "wrongly" (I've seen it countless times in comic book panels) - do you employ a strategy for that?
That said, thank you for sharing this. It's always a vicarious journey for me to see artists go through how they work their magic.

Haha,nah those really are the basic steps,i just cram a lot of stuff per layer.I've always had a bad habit of adding little details everywhere...

very inspiring. its not easy to choose all the colors in the second step. I'm used to choose the colors of everything in the almost last step
