The A-10's role as a flying tank would be prohibitive of it because it wouldn't be able to get off the ground vertically with even a halfway decent weapons load. And the Hog just by itself is a heavy mother. Just its empty weight exceeds the maximum weight at which a Harrier can take off vertically by about 2 tons. You also can't put a lift fan where you did because that space houses some of the aircraft's avionics. Not to mention said lift fan is too small, wouldn't be able to generate enough thrust to lift the aircraft due to its weight, and, most importantly, I'm pretty sure the engine configuration couldn't be modified to power said lift fan.
Again, I'm not trying to discourage you, it's just not a mechanically feasible design.
