Yeah, and what're they gonna be feeding that whale from now on? Was the part about feeding people to it just a matter of convenience? Like... "Oh, it didn't have to eat people to survive, we just thought it was a good way to get rid of undesirables." Fun episode, but still... plot holes. As much a part of Doctor Who as the police box.

After rewatching it, I got the morbid impression that it subsisted on the usual food waste that was dumped down the garbage chutes, but it was apparently decided upon that human beings would make an extra-special treat. BUT YEAH, by now I've learned not to expect Doctor Who continuity to be particularly stellar, ahaha
