I agree. The colour selection use is certainly clichΓ©. The most powerful images do not need a lot of photshopping to have impact. However, the use of the tree's branch on the right and the buildings on the left to guide the eye toward the arch works well, placing focus on the center. I may suggest cropping out some of the tree on the left edge of the photo, however, to move the arch slightly to the left, allowing it to be placed on a point of interest using the rule of thirds.

An outstanding photograph with a clear, crisp visual- it captures the scene splendidly, highlighting not only it's larger features, but it's smaller and more delicate ones. The colour especially gives the magic to this photograph- The almost grey and white tone is beautifully uplifted by the reddish orange, allowing the eye to comfortably gaze through from the front of the scene, without unnecessary blares of colour. A gorgeous piece in all, something I would gladly hang up in my home or want to see displayed in a gallery! I greatly hope to see more of your work very soon! Wonderful!

The way that the picture is taken, suggests a calm and steady hand. The buildings are all given equal space, and the eye is given time to look over the exquisite handiwork of each, equally. In remarkable contrast, though, are the in-color portions of the picture, vivid reds and oranges in sharp contrast with the subdued brownish-gray tone of the rest of the picture. Of particular note is the structure in the rear of the picture. Its height lends to the eye being drawn to it first and foremost, while not taking anything away from the rest of the picture. Overall it is a striking and yet simultaneously delicate piece, one that is sure to amaze many who view it.

Beautiful angle first of all, captures everything so perfectly in this frame. The branches of trees are also peeking in, so story like
Secondly, I love the coloring and how the red comes out, also highlights the fact that in this part of Asia, red is a color of life and prosperity... beautiful!
More than that the other colors just give it a feeling of old. I really like it.
Those mountains in the background go really hidden cause of the light colors. but I guess that was what you wanted to do so... good work

yeah, they're pretty unsuccessful as far as art thieves go, but I've been keeping an eye on them since I first caught them with a gallery full of stolen art over a year ago. the fact I used tumblr to get it dealt with as fast as possible (some tumblr users who knew French tried to explain things to him, some others who knew Japanese contacted the pixiv artists he stole from and helped them report the theft properly) possibly kept them from building a solid foundation of followers. I just checked them out today because I was going thru some old tumblr posts and saw they've uploaded more stuff and decided to check it out and let the people whose works I could source know what's happened, that way he'll likely never get away with pulling that art theft BS.

Its a great shot. The colors a very bold when left with just the temple orange and gray tone. Reminds me of when I was over there. Some of my favorite photos came from that area. Now that I'm home and out of the military I miss it.
