Description
Wave Rock, Western AustraliaWave Rock is a natural rock formation located east of the small town of Hyden in Western Australia. The 'wave' formation was formed 60 million years ago and the shape of the rock is not caused by a wave phenomenon, rather its rounded wave-like shape was formed by subsurface chemical weathering followed by removal of the soft weathered granite by fluvial erosion, thus the weathering occurred below ground level before it was exposed. The end result is an undercut base, leaving a round overhang.

Sorry for just checking your devStack now, but it was wonderful having this as the stack cover. Kinda painful to finally remove it cause it's so nice.

... interesting picture and equally interestingly justified title to the artwork... I've never seen this kind of 'rock' ever (in person, or even on a picture)... so this gives me that sense of aesthetics that could be visioned only from the eye of an artist like you Sven... this picture is fantastic...
... however, I wish this picture was a little 'broader'... the magnitude of the 'depth' factor in the picture is really high, but it has not been justified by the breadth of it... one can only see the towering structure of the rocks, and for a person like me (who has not seen this kind of natural setting), this picture poses like an enigma... not giving the sense of what's out and around it... maybe you can upload another one with another angle?

Here you go, not as visually appealing imo, but it gives you an idea on how big the rock is [link]

Cool! This is why I wish I could travel. (But I'm kinda scared of riding in an airplane. Too many scary stories on tv involving plane crashes...)

By that logic you probably should be just as scared of driving in a car or even going to school..

Fair play ^_^ I've been desperate to get an 8mm fisheye recently and currently I think everything should be shot wide angle!
That's incredible, you really don't get s sense of scale in, I assumed it was a couple of meters!
