Edit 07-04-10: I worked on this a little bit more...Did I already mention that Red Dead Redemption is the BEST GAME EVAR??? Hmmm.. yes I did. But let me repeat: RDR is the best! And John Marston is so...
After playing it I wanted to paint him in a a serene moment in front of his farm. If you finished the game you will probably know why. And now I am once again too eager to upload it now and too lazy to do the final tweaks before - there is quite some room for improvement I think. But it might also be a good thing to wait for your comments first and then fix everything at once.
Again I saved some of my precious lifetime and patience by using textures from cgtextures.com on the clothes. And I photographed my bf smoking a cigarette for the mouth reference (well I had a crappy photo of Marston in that pose i took with my cam from the tv but the mouth was somehow too blurred to see anything) - and while painting the cigarette I thought - fuck it, I'll just take that tip of the cigarette from the photo and paste it into the whole thing because I cannot draw it convincingly enough

Then something else: The bandolier made me go crazy - I couldn't find any proper reference for the pattern on it. Now I kind of improvised... but if somebody finds me a good reference I'll be glad if you can link me to it.Red Dead Redemption and John Marston belong to Rockstar Games. I hope they tolerate my interpretation
I will give you a big file for download and print at home once I'm satisfied with it and I call it finished. My watchers will be notified when it's up.

Excellent job on this! It's so amazing. I love the details, especially his expression. After I did the final chapter for him, I cried! One of the best games I have ever played. I play it all the time. Back to your phenomenal artwork, I also really like how you did the background. It's marvelous.

Finally! A pic of John Marston that shows his softer and kinder side! All the artwork I've seen just make him look like a cold-blooded badass (which he kinda is, too), but here he actually looks like a family-man. Well done!

Awesome! It looks just like him! We bought the game of the year edition, yesterday. So it comes with the first and the second game. I like the game so far, shooting people and skinning animals is fun.

Personally I think it would have been better if he was in the rancher outfit since it's supposed to be him at the farm, but nonetheless this is an amazing job. I wish you could keep playing as him post-ending.
