I was bored and decided that I should practice some coloring... Then I went to my sketches folder and found a very old Richard pic I drew like 5 years ago.. I redrew it and well, this is the result~ ^3^What do you guys think? Any suggestion on how to improve?

I really like the sofa here (lol random) but I do.
And sometimes I really feel I'm Richard-esque. I should've cosplayed him while my hair was short. XD

ohhh, that is a SEXY pic of Richard! I like the little bit of skin showing on his tummy, and the pensive look is just....just amazing!
That is also the sexyest couch I have ever seen!!
I think it looks amazing.....but then again ,I would give my legs for drawing skills like yours, so everything you draw looks perfect ^_^

I think it looks lovely, though I love Richard so anything with him in it is lovely. YOu got the anatomy done really well, I think you did a great job here. I think the paler skin tones suit the mood very nicely.

when I saw this as a preview I thought this was a picture where you drew your character in ;A; that couch is a very pretty couch<333 and Richard is just<33 but that's nothing new >v>

Also, aside from shading with more tonal values like how ~Veanar suggested, I would just say that your shading right now lacks a bit of structure (if you'll pardon me for saying so) since you're really relying on your lineart as of right now to convey the shapes and the general form of the subject. For example, if you turn your lineart layer off, would Richard show up as clearly as you want him to? While the whimsical sort of watercolor feel to it is a nice texture of sorts, the way you apply it seems not as defining as if you hadn't really. And although people have already mentioned how pale he is, I would suggest trying to shade with warmer tones to make it feel more like skin, but I like how it sets the mood as well as the lighting.

Thank you! You're totally right xD~ I actually just colored it without thinking, just adding shades here and there, mixing colors and whatnot to see what happened~ now I know structure in coloring is also very important :3~ I'll make sure to apply it in my next practice pics! ^^

<: flipping images (horizontally and vertically) is a good way to give your eyes a break from looking at the same thing over and over again and helps you catch anatomy mistakes as well as balance. Turning an image grayscale helps as well, to see if you the values are correct in shading.

hmm, I think some tips for shading: shade with more colours, perhaps?
Like by the blue in his jeans, where the light is, it's light blue, maybe you could add some red in the shadow.
(opposite colours for light and shadow.)
Do it with low opacity though

I really love this pic though, his expression makes me wonder what he's thinking about
And I like the little details, like how his tie is undone and his belt..

I love the painting style on this, I really do. The shading on the curtains and couch are gorgeous; well, the couch is just beautiful anyway. :3 You're always very good with backgrounds...

But the colors you use for this are slightly pale, buut it fits Richard alone; with henry, vibrant happy colors of love.

thank you! hehe yeah, I chose gloomy colors on purpose xD~ It does look better with vibrant colors, though (I tried changing the saturation), but the feeling is different... I think this was on the part where he got in a quarrel with Henry, so gloomy opaque colors fit him more xD~

he looks like a vampire >u< because his skin is unnatural white... but beside that it's awsomeness <3 i totally love his pose <3 it somehow gives the 'i-want-to-do-it' vibe >u< ehehe xD or something samiliar
anyway i like this style of colouring <3 though i don't like the painting style to colour richard that way... hmn... it can be in painting style... but somehow different >n< i dunno how to explain it... well nevermind OTL i just like it for backgrounds xD because you can give that extra structure in it that way =B
