Does it move around? I can't imagine anyone voluntarily approaching it unless they had a death wish.

It has ability to slightly move- move it's branches and such. In order to attract victims it uses light. It also hides the "scary face" in the bark, so victims only see nice glowing lights and just a tree.

Wow, this is just awesome. Quite a different take on the man eating tree myth, but it looks so cool. Just brilliant as always from you.

You know, I wonder how this tree survives. Because, with faces like that, no man would be dumb enough to go anywhere near the thing.
Unless, of course, the tree spreads lies to lure in stupid adventurers, like there being a mountain of treasure buried under its roots. I could see that working.

I thought of that actually))
I think that my tree probably is cunning. The faces can be hidden, so it looks like a normal tree. Moreover the glowing things remain even when the face is hidden, so it looks like a very old tree with some mysterious lights. I think those glowing lights are enough to attract human attention. Or since it's a mystical creature, the tree can create illusions. So a human sees what he wants to see instead of reality. For example - a very beautiful woman that calls him to come close. So they get tricked

Ah, like so many stealth predators, the tree hides in plain sight, camouflaged and unnoticeable, waiting for unsuspecting prey to approach before it strikes. That could totally work also. Also, if this tree grows in a dark forest (as the picture suggests), the glowing sap would totally make an effective lure for lost adventurers, like the light of a deep-sea angler fish (those things are scary, man. D8 )
