I love how many different styles of shiny rendering there are. I always find myself changing things up a little to see what fits my tastes better.

As with everything, you need to keep on experimenting to find the way that fits your best. And even then, it's still not good enough. At least, that's what I always think when trying out new things.

If there's any one constant in this world it's the infinate ability to get better at your craft. No artist is perfect. Some find that discouraging but I personally find it motivating. It's good to know that I'm getting a little better every time I draw. It's like leveling in an RPG but with practical use :3

It's a constant battle when it comes to internet distractions XD
I've learned to just stay away from time wasters like reddit and tumblr entirely. I do try to create a marriage between internet browsing and work. So I frequent a lot of podcasts and lets plays that I can listen to in the background. Keeping my hands working and my mind engaged at the same time.

Oh yes indeed! I've abstained from the pests of 9gag and the like as well for a while now (just block it all), and just focus on working, Two Best Friends Play, science lectures, 80s and retrowave music, and russian car crashes. It's mah diet.
Too much of my distraction comes from researching Japanese railway topics and thinking of fictive railway connections... It's a terrible waste of time.
