I'm in the process of removing most of my writing. I'm down-sizing and probably going to upload about 24 pieces a year an no more. Literature interest is really dying here at dA.

i hear that; it's becoming more and more hard to find good stuff to read on dA- even n MY gallery lol- so you might wanna avoid my literature folder; i can already feel the lashing my mediocre work would get from you

I tried that some years ago. There were a group of us that went around giving honest and sometimes scathing critique. We all were threatened with an across the board ban if we continued because of so much stupidity and butt-hurt.
I'm systematically taking my gallery down. Turns out i have less time than I anticipated to get it done, but all my 'friends' from deviant art are also other places. Like gmail. and facebook. Deviant art served a purpose for me. I spent(wasted) a large amount of time here doing what I believed was right by the standards of what I consider 'art community'.
Deviant art didn't repay that, but I did meet (meat?) some awesome people and witness some awesome works along the way.
Literature is like any other art-form. It takes craft, and work to get a piece into shape. 6 years ago, i thought all that was bullshit. Now, I see that you have to sculpt a poem, even the smoothest of them, to 'communicate' properly. The rest... i mean those who think that this type or that type of writing is the pinnacle... thats all bullshit too. The main thing with most artwork is and always has been communication. If your piece has to be explained, then it doesnt work. just like any abstract art. and words are pretty damn abstract.
