That would scare the crap out of me to get that close to a bee! I hope you used something that let you stay as far away as possible! Amazing capture though and the white flowers really accent that

I was going to say, I got about 4 feet in front of a bee like that taking a picture of it and I was so terrified the camera shake was terrible-- even though it was just minding it's business, lol.
So I give you tons of kudos on this one, I couldn't have done it, lol

im not really scared of bees just when theyre almost touching me
animals can sense fear and i think thats when they attack
i stepped once on a bee and the poor thing probably died
im so sorry for that one bee
even if the needle got stuck in my foot and it hurt like hell and my foot went numb

ugh, sounds like a horror story to me! When I was a kid I was playing in the woods in my backyard and I accidently stepped on a fallen hive I guess and was attacked. I ended up running straight to the river behind my house and jumping in I had something like 20 or 30 bites, I don't remember now, but it hurt like the devil and it sucked because my dad was allergic and when he fished me out the river he got stung too--so we were both at the doctor puffy and gross-- it hurt SOOOOOOO bad. Imagine if we had KILLER BEES around where we live- scary!

good point! bees are kinda scary
especially the african ones that always attack in very large groups and everything in their way gets killed
