Im aware your living situation is somewhat icky, though I dont know to what extent. Though I can say for certain its nothing like what people are used to in my area, so you should have a bit more time.
Wether you move out or get kicked out or get arrested or get abducted by aliens or hippies, please prepare yourself.
Take this time to talk to as many people and learn as many things as you can; act older than you are.
If I had known at 17 what I knew at 19 (ohmy im not 19 anymore IM OLLLLD UGUGUHUHU) my life would have been a lot less miserable and Id have almost $10,000 more.
The good thing is, youre SUPER young, so you have A TON of time before you have to have panic attacks over money.
Get a job (if you can, in my area 18 is min age for EVERY legal buisness), make some crap and sell it, clean stuff, join a band, babysit kids without murdering them, learn about drug dealing WHATEVER
Take this from a grouchy old man thats been homeless several times, protect yourself. When it comes down to it, you are all you have - the only person who will help you out is you.
a quick list of things that would be immensely useful in the next 5 years:
☆a trade - something you dont hate and something youre good at, it wont work any other way
☆knowing how to invest and manage money
☆credit (you can start at 17)
☆a car
☆initiative - laziness is a killer and can get you stuck in many situations that are nobodys fault but yours
☆know how to make some not garbage food ok?
☆common sense and street smarts. no you dont need a bunch of guns or giant dogs, you need to pay attention and learn from others mistakes so those mistakes dont become yours.
i got immensely angry at a friend who was robbed and apparently licked(yeah idk) because IT WAS THEIR FAULT. they couldve been kidnapped and sold into slavery because they didnt care enough to be safe. if you are in a sketchy area (which you will always know), and unarmed (which you shouldnt be), in a place you knew you were going through (you may not always though), and allowed someone to get within a reasonable distance to you (ive been both, and a woman is 90% more likely to attract trouble), then YEAH YOU GONA HAVE A BAD DAY
