Description
Darth Talon from Star Wars Legacy.This is the first time I have coloured someone else's line art. I love heavy inks, but have never been good at it myself, so I found this excellent piece [link] by mikems71 and coloured it.
This is also the quickest colouring I've ever done (no more than 4 hours), and I actually finished it in a day.
I couldn't give her any rim lighting or hot spots because of the tatoo's, so it may look a bit bland.
I removed my digital signature from this on 27JUL2010 as it looks a bit ugly and don't really need it my collabs anyway. I'm gonna be designing a new sig for 2011.

Thanks, yes its definitely helpful. I do quite a lot of inking myself these days and its definitely come a long way since those days.

None by me (yet), but you'll see loads if you read any of the Legacy comics. Asaj Ventress from Clone wars is still my fave though.

I just used Corel Photopaint, using a mask on the white zone and filling its border with red paint ("Add" option, don't forget it). Then, you have to blur it to finish the effect. It's quite easy. It only took a couple of minutes.

Is there any way you could cut out a bit of the lightsabre glow where it goes over her top/boob? as it should be behind it.

I've seen quite a few pics of this lady--everyone digs tattooed Twi'leks, especially bad-ass Sith ones.
Talon is a beauty, and your exceptional coloring skills capture her in all her splendor and magnificance.
I love how soft the color looks, deep and dark on the edges of her smooth-looking skin, but light and smoother
still on the inside. And the eyes...how they glow. Most beautiful, indeed.
This is really a sight for sore eyes. Keep up the exceptional coloring skills, dA needs more art like this.

I think sometimes when you keep things simple, it turns out better. You don't get bogged down as the finish is always in sight. Also, the awesome line art helps.

Yeah. I viewed some other deviants and their coloring of the same picture. They used flashy backgrounds that made my focus go all crayyyzzzyyy and stuff, and the colors were deeper and not exactly as soft and magnificant as yours. All in all you did the best that could have possibly been done coloring that awesomeness.

Yeah, they just don't look as good as yours. But you should really see the others, it's still cool to see the contrast between yours and theirs.
