Thanks mate. Β Yeah I agree. Β To tell you the truth, I'm not impressed at all with direction that IDW has taken for Transformers. Β It started off great with infiltration, escalation etc but it went down hill from/after All hail Megatron. Β I'd have loved it if they'd done updated/improved versions of the Marvel stories.

I loved the art in AHM and I thought the story was OK, but I thought it undermined what had gone on before. Β Things started to get worse (for me) after AHM. Β I'll definitely be checking you pics out, I'm just a bit behind with my DA messages at the moment.

Yeah Guido did a great job with the designs in AHM.Β But that's another thing that disappoints me in general about the IDW comics is how drastically they've changed most of the designs for a lot of the bots (with a few exceptions such as EJ Su, Guido Guidi & Livio Ramondeli).

That's cool, they're all based on the original G1 toys anyway.Β I only have original G1 toys in collection, but I've seen the Universe, Classics, etc I think they're all pretty cool.Β And as for the MP toys, I'm well impressed.

I've got all the US comicsΒ as graphic novels, but don't any of my original comics anymore.Β Thanks, glad you liked it.

Though I enjoy the original comic very much, I always sort of had to look past the pre-computer CMYK separation process of colouring, because the limitations therein made for a lot of strange choices. This piece allows the viewer to savour every aspect of the panel -- I think the lit optics and the starry sky are my favourite parts of your upgrade.

I loved the original comics too, which is why couldn't resist doing some colours on this.Β I might do another one some time if can get my hands on more line art.Β Thanks for the comments, glad you liked it.

Now this is something really special! Your updated colours look stunning!
James is so lucky to own that terrific artwork too!
This would make an excellent poster!

Cheers Joe.
He certainly is and and he's got a few more classics in his collection too.
It would, although the files a bit small. Β I'd have loved to have a go at colouring the actual cover to this issue with him fighting the Dinobots on it.

Yeah, that's an awesome cover!
The colours look terrific here. Very brooding! I love it
I own one original page from the marvel comics (courtesy of eBay) - the last page of Space Pirates where Quintessa is destroyed (spoilers!)

Its one of the classics.
Thanks mate, couldn't help but have a crack at this.
Cool!Β I only vaguely remember that story asΒ I read itΒ so long ago.Β I'm sure I remember a really cool Metroplex splash page though.

It's a great story. But I'm biased cos I love the Quintessons. Rodimus Prime has the Matrix stolen and he turns into Hot Rod again, which was cool.
Yup, Metroplex kicks a lot of butt in that story!

I remember the general story, just not the exact ins and outs of it.Β I lost my original comic collection years ago
Yeah, pretty much all the UK story stories were great.

I've still got mine but they're all hole-punched (ouch!), ripped, yellowed and drawn on. I love them to bits!

Yep, I think it was his first ever comic book appearance.
