Even if I was so shocked I was able to took this closeup photo before I ran off.So take a closer look to this creepy thing which seems be returned from the afterworld just to color my pants brown!
So watch out what's behind you these days!

I used to be so scared of the dark because of stuff like this, but I challenged myself to look at scary pictures and watch horror movies; now I'm like one of the toughest people around XD

I'm not sure where I stand on things like the afterlife, hauntings, demons, angels. I had a moderately religious upbringing but after a couple decades I started questioning. I'm an open - minded secular humanist / Deist.

IMO this is mybe not the easiest but one of the best ways to deal with this topic. To be open for everything and to choose a middle course / happy medium in a rational manner.

I wish I could discuss such subjects as religion & ideology objectively with my uncle, aunt & cousin. They tend to be closed - minded,subjective & if it's NOT in the Bible or from some conservative religious pundit it's not worth wiping their behind with. Discussing things like that with them is about like dancing blindfolded in a mine - field while juggling live grenades - when having a seizure !

I have to apologize. I was laughing when I imagin it ... I mean the way how you describe the dancing thing ... so funny.
But I'm aware of how serious the topic behind is.
I'm not Dr. Freud but I believe the problem is that many people are unable to accept a reality beside their belief or religion because it would mean to put down something like a protective shield that prevents them from all the problems and the evil in this world. Maybe they can not handle life without that shield.
I hope you now what I mean because it's quite difficult for me to describe my thoughts in english language.

Religion is a crutch, a coping device, & sometimes an addiction. Capable of helping motivate people to do great good or commit terrible injustices, like justifying slavery in the U.S. & justifying crimes against gays & lesbians. Also trying to impede human progress via medicine or science. Like anything, it has 2 sides, maybe more.
I live in an area of the U.S. called the " Bible Belt " where anything sufficiently new, unfamiliar, or different is STILL viewed with a lot of suspicion or outright scorn / hatred.

I don't see what should be wrong with being open to see the world from different angles and to give a little room for everyones opinion.

People just get stuck in certain ways of thinking, they're afraid to go beyond them, & it gets worse when they try force their ideas on you & make you think almost exactly like them, because it'll make you as " good " as they are. That's my experience.
