Description
"I mean, I feel like I should know this. Gimme your phone.""Are you high?"
"No! It's just . . . I'm thinking they don't, but then, they're mammals, so maybe they have an internal one? Or something? Are people the only animals with navels?"
"Please stop."
"God, this is gonna drive me crazy."

Ahhh, nostalgia. Old characters whom I dearly love.
As usual, you can find more information, wips, and assorted nonsense at my Tumblr .

...It's funny because I have friends who ask things like that and don't stop thinking about it til they know the answer. Great shading and tones!

Mine totally does, it's just not super pronounced. All a bellybutton really is is an umbilical scar.

You know when you ask a question that you instantly regret cause you know your other half has lost quite a lot of respect for you? This is one of them.

Yes they do. All creatures do, even birds, it's just that unlike humans a lot of these scars or divets disappear as they age. And this is a very cute drawing

no way. Birds have belly buttons? Why though?

The same reason why humans and everything else has one; so it can receive the necessary nutrients via the umbilical cord while in foetal development.

cool! i didn't know that they used umbilical cords while in their eggs. I thought they just kind of osmosis-ed most of their nutrients.

I'm debating whether or not to call my cousin who's a vet to actually see if they have belly buttons. If they do, then does that beg the question that dogs have one too?

Aww, cute. I really like it.
(Aaaand cats don't have belly buttons as we have, because they cut the umbilical cord without knotting it, so, sometime after their birth, it kinda falls on it's own. I had cats.)

They do. It's small and lower down than it is on humans... plus they've got so much fur... but they do. Yeah. There's a book with that title and I read the it in the book about it.

having been at the birth of many a kitten I can garentee the cats have a belly button... only it heals 'better' less visibly than a human one

I love this picture. ; 3; Conversations like this between characters are just the best thing. I love it when my normally badass characters just curl up next to each other and babble on about nonsense.

cat's do have belly buttons. As do dogs, horses (i love horse belly buttons XD) and anything that was attached to an umbilical cord at one point.
