He seems like he would be a perfect derpy mid-boss for a Legend of Zelda game. Kinda dumb, not particularly hostile, but very powerful. Then, after you beat him, he becomes your friend and helps you beat the dungeon boss, like the baboon in Twilight Princess.

I am a big fan of characters with abstract anatomies (i.e. "cartoony creatures"), because they have a certain charm to them. You have definitely done that with this character! What makes him more interesting is the juxtaposition of him appearing to be far more maneuverable than what slugs naturally are. With him being a slug and having massive forearms, it would be fitting to call him "Slugger" (Just a thought. He's your character, afterall).
I definitely see him as a main character for a video game. Actually, come to think of it, he reminds me of the Oddworld series.
