Chimera came around when a pair of matoran tripped into an underground protodermis lake. The two matoran, a Ta-Matoran and a Ga-Matoran, merged, becoming Chimera, a large and powerful beast of a toa who has the ability to control both fire and water, harnessing both their powers to (sometimes destructively) save the island from threats.
