Chimera came around when a pair of matoran tripped into an underground protodermis lake. The two matoran, a Ta-Matoran and a Ga-Matoran, merged, becoming Chimera, a large and powerful beast of a toa who has the ability to control both fire and water, harnessing both their powers to (sometimes destructively) save the island from threats.
In this particular picture, Chimera is scouting the land for his next victim

That has to be the most creative use of that purple plate that I've seen. Mostly because it didn't require buying more sets for a completely purple figure.
