I have the same problem (though not a problem), but we have little tree frogs that appear everywhere...and I always feel sad when i see some on the road that didn't make it.
Good job on catching him

I think this is a great capture, but what gets me really excited is the fact that you were lucky enough to catch a raindrop in splash! It adds so much.

For some reason your words remind me of events...
I have a very (very) small garden, and I had no frogs.
One summer, there was like a frog invasion in a field nearby, so I went there
with a plastic bag and brought home like... I dont know, maybe 10 big frogs!
Two days later, none of them was there. Since I have walls surrounding it,
and very little earth, it was not possible that they had hidden.
I waited until the night (because they are night animals mainly) and I went
out with a lantern.... to find one of them escaping: it was using the wall and
a pipe to climb, by putting his back against the pipe and climbing with his
legs (the pipe was the support to avoid falling down).
I never brought frogs home again
And by the way: was the frog small, or the mushroom huge ?
Smiles,
M.

That cute chubby little frog caught my eye almost instantly!
I'm not sure why, but I really love this photo!
Btw, it says Β«Critique Not DesiredΒ», why do you not want people telling you how wonderful your photography is?
Cuz....there is a good side on Critique..right?

You can never have too many frogs and toads in your yard
unless you are cross with them for eating the insects you want to photograph ...

That one's epic! It's almost as if it was wating there, posing just to have it's picture taken
(But I guess it was actually jumping away like crazy
) And it's even a luckier shot because you got it just as a raindrop hit it's back

That is one pissed off looking toad. Quality moment to take the photo, and I'm very envious of your frog and toad population!

I envy your yard. It's like a whole new universe! The only mushrooms we have are tiny and hidden in the grass, certainly too small to support a toad. Mind sending some of those toads to my yard?
