Description
So...as you probably know, I am straight. But I completely can see the gay's side on this issue. To you other straight people: Say you're a woman. You're in love with a man, but the government tells you that can't marry a guy. That if you want to get married, it has to be to a woman. That is exactly what they are telling gays. When a man is in love with another man, the government tells him "You cannot marry who you are in love with. If you want to marry, it has to be with a woman."
Am I the only one to see things this way? Love happens, it often isn't controlled. (Unless you're playing Sims) I can't imagine being told that I can't marry a guy if he is who I love and wish to spend the rest of my life with. That would drive me insane.
I really wish I could do something about this. It annoys me.

man and women aren't created equal. They were made to complete each other.
there would be problems if you try to fit two same puzzle pieces together.
love is just an emotion, you can easily fall out of love as you fall in love. There needs to be something more, something concrete other than "love".
don't get me wrong, I'm all for love; i read romantic stories, and get butterflies in my stomach if a boy I like talks to me. but I look at a girl, and though I may feel admiration, or envy, or protective, i cannot see her as anything more than a friend.
I look at gays and I find guys who don't act like guys. And to me it don't seem right. It puzzles me that people are so eager to promote this, when it just isn't natural to start off with.
I'm sorry, but that's just my two cents...

hmm.. interesting views. but how is it not natural to feel? And saying that ALL gay men don't act like guys is stereotyping. There are gay men who are very masculine.
But I respect your opinions; you are certainly entitled to them as I am to mine. I suppose it is something we simply disagree on, and no amount of arguing will change that. I am in the "love is love" boat, and you are on the "gay love is unnatural" boat. So, I thank you for your time and your insight.

Great rant. Couldn't agree more, except for one thing. You can do something. Vote when you're able.

Hi
That person above me wrote-- Gay marriage, male or female, is completely fine unless the Church does it.
If the majority of americans (who don't know) knew just how religious (christian) and chruch-rooted this country really was, they would be uh, flabbergasted!. Did you know that in the convention of May 1776, in their declaration of rights, declared it to be a truth, and a natural right that the exercise of religion should be free. We already know that though, but did you know that at the time, heresy was a capital offence, punishable by burning, and its definition was to be left to the judges (That is how much the founders wanted our contry to stay christian). But the person writing this and the judges themselves(Thomas Jefferson, supposaibly one of the most non-belive of all our presidents) see the intolerence, and, taking it upon themsleves for the good of the country and freedom of religion, to give [an american] definition for heresy and the punishment. The definition decided upon, he writes, is the denial of the being of a God, or the Trinity, or asserts that there are more Gods than one, or denies the Christian religion to be true, or the scriptures to be of devine authority. And the punishment is that he on the first offence is the incapacity to hold any office or employment ecclesiastical, civil, or millitary; on the second by disablity to sue, to take any gift or legacy, to be guardian, executorm or administraor, and by three years imprisionment without bail. Wow, huh? I, and many others would say thanks to these judges and Jerrerson, that the punishment is not the unamierican, intolerent burning. But many other americans would crap there pants and move to Candana because they didn't know what this country really stands for.

Yes, I wish for you to know that "that person" who said the quote is my dear friend Sampsa, and he does not live in our hypocritical country, he lives in Finland. Lucky, eh?
What you said, does not really shock me all that much. I mean, I live here too and I know what goes on. Seperation of church and state, indeed. It does exist to a point, but not to a point that I'm comfortable with. Being of the Pagan/Wiccan religion, which is really a deep appreciation of Nature and love for life and the Earth, I know that when I am older and going for jobs, it will not be wise for me to speak of my religion to employers. Because although they aren't supposed to discriminate, they more than likely will. It happens, and like I said, we live in a very hypocritical country.
