Thanks. I'm not much a fan of Chii though.. I kinda hate her ditzy personality XD It's actually from a little scene from the manga and I liked it, hence the painting.

XD The entire painting was done with watercolors :3 The only time I used a pencil was when I did the very light pencil sketch so I know where I'm painting. Then watercolored it, and I did the fine details like the outlines and stuff last.

Lol, that seems to happen quite a lot Nee.. it's just me being nitpicky and weird ._____.; The background could've been a whole lot better now that I look at it closely

Watercolors are one of the biggest mysteries to me... Like, I put just a tiny bit of paint on and I feel like the papers about to split apart it's so wet. D: And like, blending colors is a nightmare cause' they don't really blend, they streak and seperate and AUGH! D:

Aww T.T You might've been using too thin of a paper... for example regular computer paper's the worst XD You should try using paper that's 140 pounds (or higher) since it's pretty thick and won't wrinkle TOO much. It'll still morph, but not severely. Anything under 140lbs won't be able to hold its shape.

The streaking and separating might be from 3 things.

The paper itself which gets too soggy and starts breaking apart from being wet cuz it's too thin.

The types of brushes you're using. It's good to go with the really soft bristle brushes instead of the hard ones. They're easier on the paper and won't tear it up as much. And since there's a lot more hairs in the soft bristle brushes, they'll spread the paint more evenly.

Lastly, it could be the quality of watercolors you're using and/or that you haven't blended it as well on your pallete before you started. I prefer the watercolors in the tubes rather than the caked colors in the trays because since it's already in a thick paste form, it's just easier for me to blend together and it's less likely that you'll pick up a lil chunk of watercolor that'll make your paint all streaky once you put it on paper.

Maybe. I forget what pound it is, but all of them feel kind of weird. >< They all morph I think... which freaks me a little. >< Like, I'm afraid to keep saturating it...
Yeah, I've tried the ones in the tube, I prefer those... but should I let it dry more before adding other colors in to blend? I mean, it's not like painting acrylic or anything. >< I dunno, I've only watercolored maybe once or twice, so I don't really remember all that much. The last time I remember, I used watercolor pencils instead, which is kind of like... draw it on, wet it. X) Although, adding more color once you've wet it is impossible, cause the pencil will tear the paper, so I guess you have to use tube watercolor after that point...
Yeah, I don't really have the workspace for big pictures anymore... I wish I was back home with my upstairs table that I could art on. >< Now I'm limited to digital, colored pencils or marker. -_-
I really want to attempt painting! I've only done it once or twice now... but I wouldn't know what to paint! And not being able to color in an outline is a scary sounding thing, but it sounds challenging!
Anyways, I'm ranting... off I go... >.> *scuttles away*

Thanks Aww.. yeh I know watcha mean... watercolors can be pretty hard to work with but it's best if you use the brushes with the really soft bristles and keep lots of paper towels at hand
